MRS. GEORGE STEINMETZ DIES

RICEVILLE, IOWA -- Funeral services were held here Wednesday for Mrs. George Steinmetz, Sr., 75, who died Monday. She had been ill the last four months, and was hospitalized at Cedart Valley hospital in Charles City for two months, then brought home and entered the Riceville hospital, where she died.

She had lived for 50 years in the Riceville community on a farm south of town until 25 years ago when she and family moved to Riceville.

She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Wingar, and Mrs. Ray Brandt, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Mark Moore, Algona; Mrs. Max Halpin, Waterloo; and one son, George Steinmetz, Jr., Riceville.

Ada Belle (Long) Steinmetz -- June 28, 1875 —March 5, 1951

RICEVILLE, IOWA – Mrs. George Steinmetz, Sr., 75, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday at Riceville Hospital. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Born Ada Belle Long, June 28, 1875, at Baldwin, she was the daughter of Ezra and Amanda Long. She married George Steinmetz, May 9, 1893. She lived in this community about 40 years. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Bit O’ Help Club, and WSCS of Methodist Church.
She leaves her husband, four daughters, one son, 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter.
