MITCHELL, IOWA -- Funeral services were held Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Mitchell, for Mrs. Stella Glassel, 84, who died Friday of a heart attack in her car in Osage.
Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery.

SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK WHILE DRIVING
Osage – Ms. Ed Glassel, 84, suffered a fatal heart attack Friday afternoon as she was backing her car from the curb on Main Street, Osage. The car stopped. Mrs. Glassel was listed as dead on arrival at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Glassel was honored at the Mitchell Centennial in 1954 as the oldest living native resident of Mitchell. She was then crowned queen.
Born near Mitchell to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ripley, March 30, 1878, she had lived all her life in the area, with 78 years lived in the same home iun Mitchell.
Surviving are her husband and a brother, Fred Ripley, Los Angeles. A brother, Harold, and two sisters, Daisy Runge and Grace Weldin, preceded her in death.
