Dan J. Quinn, 48, of McIntire, Iowa died at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, after an extended illness.

Dan J. Quinn was born August 16, 1952, at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo, lowa. He was the only child born to Bernard and Irene Morse Quinn. Dan attended Riceville Community Schools and after graduation, he attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. After graduating he was employed as a mechanic at A&H Motors. During this time, he also completed a degree in conservation. In 1975, he became the bus mechanic for the Riceville School System. Dan started driving semitrucks in 1980, traveling coast to coast.

In 1982, he relocated to Santa Cruz, California. At this time Dan was employed as shop manager for waste management. In 1992, he became manager of Chelore Truck Repair. He returned back to Iowa in 1997 due to failing health.

During Dan's time in California he raised bonsai trees. Dan was a quiet, private person and a devoted and loving son and father.

Dan was united in marriage to Eta Eastman of Mcintire, Iowa at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville, Iowa from 1971 to 1996. Dan and Etta had one child, Chad Quinn and special friends Cliff and Helen Dyson of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Carol Hardin of Ohio.

Dan is survived by his son, Chad Quinn, Lacrosse Wis.; his mother, Irene Quinn of Riceville, Iowa, one aunt and one uncle.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Bernard in 1987. Also preceding him were his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bertha Quinn and his maternal grandparents, Harry and Rose Morse.

Service: 10:30 Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville, Iowa with the Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Riceville.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville on Sunday during the hours of 4-8 p.m. where there will be a scripture service at 5 p.m.

DAN J. QUINN

MCINTIRE - Dan J. Quinn, 48, of McIntire, passed away Thursday (March 15, 2001) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn., after an extended illness.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville, with the Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville.

Friends may call during the hours of 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, where there will be a scripture service at 5 p.m.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, in 1987. Also preceding him were his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bertha Quinn; and his maternal grandparents, Harry and Rose Morse.
