NOTE: Apparently the newspaper erroneously printed his middle initial as "L"; actually his middle name is Herman. Walter was born on 25 Aug. 1904 in Rock township, Mitchell county, Iowa. He died on May 25, 1960 at Osage, Iowa.

He married Alice Ella S. Rosenberg on 16 OCT 1927. She was born on 3 OCT 1905 in Newburg Twp., Mitchell County, and died on 14 MAR 1995.

He was the son of Louis Carl August Dieterichs, and Lydia Frieda (nee) Buehrer Dieterichs.

His daughter is Marjory Rose.

W. L. Dieterichs dies at Osage

OSAGE—Walter L. Dieterichs, 55, died Wednesday after being hospitalized some time.

He was the owner and manager of the East Side Motel here and formerly owned the East End Grocery.

Born near St. Ansgar in August, 1904, he was the son of Louis and Lydia Dieterichs. He
was married to Alice Rosenberg in October, 1927. They farmed near St. Ansgar and came to
Osage 25 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Merle (Marjory) Penney, Osage; a son, Larry,
who was graduated from Osage High School Wednesday night; a grandson, two sisters, Mrs.
Maurice (Edna) Surface, Minneapolis; Mrs. Calvin (Dolores) Flaig, Itasca, Illinois.

Funeral services are tentatively set for Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
