Charles J. Tubbs Died Sunday at Earl Tubbs Home
Charles J. Tubbs died at the home of his son Earl in Osage Sunday after a long illness. Mr. Tubbs was born March 7, 1859 in this county and lived his entire life here.
He was the son of Caleb and Jane Tubbs, pioneers of Mitchell County. On February 22, 1881 he married Ruth Ann Clark at Osage. They lived on farms in the vicinity for thirty-eight years, then moved to Osage in 1919.
Mr. and Mrs. Tubbs became members of the Methodist church before their marriage and continued in that church relationship here in Osage, except for a few years when they transferred to the Methodist church at Mitchell. Later they again united with the Osage church and have given their share of time and thought to its work.
Surviving are his children; Clayton E. of Floyd, John Ray and Earl C. of Osage, Mrs. Ruth Coonradt, Waverly, also two adopted daughters, Mrs. Perry Galley, Kenyon Minn, and Mrs. Ernest Parr, Osage. He had eighteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. F.A. Court of the Methodist church and burial made in the Osage cemetery.

#2:Tubbs Funeral to Be Held at Osage
OSAGE, IOWA - Charles ackson Tubbs, 76, lifelong resident of Mitchell County, died Saturday at his home in Osage after a month's illness fromheawrt disease.
He was born on the present A.I. Stacy farm west of Osage and lived there until 14 yeawrs ago, when he retired and came to Osage. His wife died a year ago.
Surviving are three sons: Clayton of Floyd, and Ray and Earl of Osage, and a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Coonrad**, Waverly, and two adopted daughters, Mrs. Perry Galley, Kenyon, Minnesota, and Mrs. Ernest Carr, Osage.
Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at Champion Funeral Home in Osage, in the charge of Rev. S. A. Court, Methodist Church pastor.
