Carl Johannes Sauer, 77, Riceville, died at home on Monday. The death was ruled a suicide by Mitchell County authorities.

Survivors are his widow, Julia; two brothers, Loouis and George, Riceville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Miniberg, California.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at Riceville.
