LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA -- Fred Benson, 81, retired farmer and cattle raiser of Mitchell County, died Thursday at 3:15 p.m. at a nursing home in Mason City, Iowa. He was a native of Sweden, coming to the United States in 1888. he was born on October 7, 1870.

Survivors include the widow and four daughters, Mrs. Willis Barenz, Little Cedar; Mrs. Vivian Doudna, Osage; Mrs. Viggo Peterson and Mrs. Adolph Hawkins, of LeRoy, Minnesota.
