OSAGE, IOWA - Edward Horsfall, 4 1/2, died Friday night of injuries suffered when he was struck by a pickup driven by his father at the parental Harvey Horsfall farm east of Carpenter.

The father stated his son usually rode with him in the family pickup. At 8:30 Friday evening the father waited in the truck for his son, idling the motor for a short time, and seeing no sign of the boy, started forward. He believes the child was playing hide and seek, for he was directly in front of the bumper and was not visible.

Dr. G.E. Krepelka, acting coronor, stated the child died from a skull fracture and that the truck traveled about 20 feet. The child was dead before the arrival of the family doctor.

The father stopped the car, thinking he had run over a toy and found the son's crumpled body. Funeral rites are pending.

Survivors include the parents, two younger brothers, Stanley and Frances, and sister, Linda.
