William (Bill) Mayer, age 81, of Riceville died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.

A funeral mass was held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating.

Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville with military honors. Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville, was in charge of arrangements.
