RANSOM, Ruby I. (nee Klusmeier) 1913-2000

Ruby I. Ransom, age 86, of Lyle, Mower county, Minnesota, died, April 10, 2000 at her home.

She was born August 11, 1913 in Latimer, Iowa to John and Bertha (Carr) Klusmeier. She was baptized and attended the Congregational Church at Otranto, Iowa until her marriage. She attended Mona and Otranto grade school and graduated with honors from Otranto High School. She was married to George M. Ransom on Nov. 22, 1933 in Austin, Minn. by Pastor Langhowe[SIC]. They made their home in the rural Rose Creek/Lyle area.

Since 1957, they have made their home in Lyle, Minn. She has been an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, WELCA, Naomi Circle, Lyle Study Club, Lyle Senior Citizens and Woodbury Willing Workers. She worked for thirteen years as a cook at Lyle Public School. She enjoyed reading, needle work, caring for her plants, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband George Ransom, Lyle; daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Harv Golberg, Owatonna, Ramona and Carl Reuter, Rose Creek; sons and daughters-in-law Don and Judy Ransom, Lyle, Jerry and Roberta Ransom, Rose Creek; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law Verdie Carlson, St. Ansgar, Edith and Ralph Rasmussen, Grand Meadow, sisters-in-law Beverly Klusmeier St. Ansgar, Carol Ransom, Charles City, Iowa and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Erin Mari Ransom, brothers William and Leslie Klusmeier, sisters Emily Schultz and Lucille Larson.

Casket bearers will be Kent Golberg, Daniel Ransom, Scott Golberg, David Reuter, Kirk Golberg, and Cory Ransom. Organist will be David Dahlquist. Music by Kimberly Bardwell and Treasure Ransom.

· Service: 2 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle with Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating.

· Interment: Woodbury Cemetery

· Visitation: Friends may call at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the service at the church.
