OSAGE, IOWA - Ruberta Aliene Quarn, 88, of Osage died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, at First United Methodist Church in Osage with the Rev. Anna Blaedel officiating. Inurnment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

OSAGE, IOWA - Ruberta Aliene Quarn, 88, of Osage, died Wednesday (April 15, 2009) at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Ruberta was born May 13, 1920, on a farm near Alexander, the daughter of Henry and Lena (Eden) Greenfield. She attended grade school in Alexander and Rudd. Ruberta spent part of her high school years at Rudd High School and graduated from Osage High School in 1937.

She married Lorne Quarn on July 31, 1943, at Mason City. They lived in Cherokee and Charles City before moving to Osage in 1946. Ruberta worked as a bookkeeper, waitress, and distributed records for jukeboxes. She was employed as a secretary/tax-preparer for Kratchmer Law Firm for many years.

Ruberta was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osage. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and cooking.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage, with the Rev. Anna Blaedel officiating. Inurnment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Ruberta is survived by her husband, Lorne Quarn, of Osage; her daughter, Pat (Dave) Ehresman, of Arden Hills, Minn.; a sister, Careldena Shanks, of Rudd; a brother, Duaine (Jane) Greenfield, of Horsehoe Bend, Ark.; grandchildren, Christopher Bartlett of New York, N.Y.; Sara Wakefield of Irvine, Calif.; one great-granddaughter, Riley Lorne Wakefield; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Roger Shanks.
