Josephine Mary Fernholz, 81, of Watertown, died on Fri., June 14, 2002, at her home.

A private family service will be held Tuesday at the Pederson Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Bernard E. Rott officiating. Burial will take place at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Henry Catholic Church.

The former Josephine Miller was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey and Elizabeth (Adams) Miller. She married Richard Fernholz, June 22, 1940, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1999.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary (James) Lawell of Kenosha; two sons, Paul M. (Kay) Fernholz of Madison and Robert (Sung Hwa) Fernholz of Downingtown, Pa.; six grandchildren, Rick (Dawn) Neitzel of Ixonia, Robin Neitzel of Palatine, Ill., Andrea (Ed) Rauer of Wauwastosa, Jacquelyn Fernholz of Oxford, United Kingdom, Leslie Fernholz and Byron Fernholz of Downingtown, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Sara Neitzel, Amy Neitzel and Quentin Rauer, one brother, Raymond (Shelby) Miller of Beaver Dam, a number of other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, George, two brothers, Peter and Martin and two sisters Agnes Miller and Margaret Rowlands.
