McINTIRE, IOWA - Verne Duryee, 50, of McIntire, died on Sunday, March 9, 1997, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Conway Funeral Home, Riceville, with the Rev. Jerry Newland of Osage officiating. Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery, McIntire. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and on Wednesday prior to services.

Verne Duryee was born on April 14, 1946, at Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; three daughters, Denise Blue of Wadena; Connie Morrison, Osage, and Rebecca Lamphier, Stacyville; two sons, Vernon of Newton, and Alan of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Pearl Duryee of Riceville; seven grandchildren; six brothers, Donald of Plainfield; Wayne of Little Cedar; Darell and Gordon, both of McIntire; Leonard of Leland, and Jim of St. Paul, Minn.; four sisters, Diane Semerad of Riceville; Cherie Duryee of McIntire; Donna Wilson of Hayfield, Minn., and Barbara Woolworth of Cresco.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister in infancy.
