OSAGE, IOWA — Emma McInroy, 92, of Osage, and formerly of the Riceville area, died Saturday (March 19, 2005) at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, with Pastor Michael Parris officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.

Emma was born Feb. 24, 1913, near Elma, the daughter of Hugo and Helen (DeVries) Horstman. Emma worked as a hired girl for area farmers. She was united marriage to Carl McInroy on Aug. 26, 1932. They farmed and made their home in the Riceville area until retiring in 1973 and then they moved to Osage. They enjoyed going to dances. Carl passed away in 1983.

In 1988, Emma was united in marriage to Charles Hoye. Charles passed away in 2003.

Emma enjoyed gardening and her many family and friends.

She is survived by four sons: Keith McInroy, (Gayle) of Charles City, Orville McInroy (Lisa) of Robins, James McInroy (Marilyn) of Cedar Rapids, and Jerry McInroy (Jane) of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Lillie Louvar, of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Emma was preceded by: her parents; her two husbands, Carl and Charles; three sisters; and two brothers.
