RICEVILLE, Iowa - Clarice "Ki" Huso, 89, of Riceville, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 2002) at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, with the Rev. Michael Parris officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville.

OBITUARY: Clarice Lomen Huso

Clarice "Ki" Huso died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at the Riceville Community Rest Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riceville. Rev. Michael Parris officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville, was in charge of arrangements.

Clarice was born Jan. 27, 1912 in Carpenter, Iowa the daughter of Antone and Sina Lund Lomen. She was a graduate of Northwood High School in 1930. She attended Mounds/Midway School of Nursing in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated as an RN in 1933 with post-graduate courses in anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota. She worked as a nurse/anesthesiologist in the St. Paul, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin area until her marriage to Bill Huso on Dec. 28, 1944 in Tulsa, OK. Clarice was administrator and head RN at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood from 1962 to 1964. Ki and Bill moved to Riceville in 1964 where they owned and operated A & H Motors.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bill in 1995; and one brother, Kenneth Lomen and one sister, Ruth Talle.

Those that survive her include two daughters, Karen Huso of Sylmar, Calif. and Margaret Jordan of McIntire, Iowa; one son, Richard Huso of Dodge Center, Minnesota and five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
