OSAGE, IOWA — Merle J. Boehmer, 44, of Osage, died Saturday (Oct. 9, 2004) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, where there will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 4:45 p.m.
Merle was born July 26, 1960, in Osage, the son of Edward and Beverly (Randall) Boehmer. Merle graduated from Osage High School in 1979. He was united in marriage to Laurie Fox on July 31, 1981, in New Haven. Merle was employed at A to Z drying for 24 years, where he was presently the plant manager. Merle loved fishing, hunting, golfing, watching Osage and Iowa wrestling, the Dallas Cowboys and “Seinfeld.”
Merle is survived by his wife, Laurie Boehmer of Osage; three daughters, Vanessa, Cassondra and Emma Boehmer, at home; his father and mother, Edward and Beverly Boehmer of Osage; brothers and sisters, Sandy Roll and friend, Rod Harang, of Lake Mills, Ken Boehmer and wife, Kathy, of Osage, Donna Forsyth and husband, Mark, of Charles City, Mary Bethke and husband, Carl, of Osage, and Jim Boehmer and wife, Angie, of Lake Mills; 13 nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and great-nephews, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Dorothy Fox of New Haven.
He is preceded by paternal and maternal grandparents, three uncles, one aunt and one nephew.
