ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Gail Olsen, 83, of St. Ansgar died Sunday (Aug. 29, 2004) at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, 207 South School St., St. Ansgar.

Funeral services for Gail Ione Olsen, 83, of St. Ansgar, who died on Sunday, August 29, 2004 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at First Lutheran Church here with Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.
Gail was born April 3, 1921, the daughter of Kristian "Chris" and Clara Anderson Olsen on a farm by Otranto, Iowa. Gail attended rural country schools near Carpenter, completing the eighth grade. She made her home with her father, Chris, and brother, Glenn, after her mother's death, on a farm near St. Ansgar.
Later she lived with Elmer and Gladys Ketelsen, Gail's sister. On October 5, 1978, she moved to the Good Samaritan Center which was her home for 26 years. Gail was baptized into the Lutheran faith on September 25, 1921 at St. Ansgar.
Gail was a hard worker and enjoyed doing outside chores. She loved to color pictures and wearing jewelry and was always so friendly and good at remembering peoples faces and names.
Gail is surived by a sister-in-law, Agnes (Garmen) Olsen of Lyle, Minnesota; niece, Melody (Doug) Saaranen of St. Ansgar; four nephews, Dale (Pat) Ketelsen, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Derby (Barbara) Olsen of Albert Lea, Minneosta; Derry (Debbie) Olsen and Marty (Deb) Olsen of rural Lyle, Minnesota; niece-in-laws, Karen Ketelsen, nephew-in-law, Lavern Olsen; several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Gladys, and brother-in-law, Elmer Ketelsen, infant brother, Gerald, two brothers, Glenn and Garmen, two nieces, Dixie Schroeder and Daisy Olsen, four nephews, Dean Ketelsen, Marty Olsen, Monte Olsen, Merritt Olsen.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
