STACYVILLE, IOWA — Debora Kay Abbas, 48, of Stacyville, formerly of Kanawha, died Friday (Nov. 14, 2003) as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Rockledge, Florida.

Funeral services for Debora Abbas will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt with Pastor Robert Dodge Officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Friends may greet the family from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt and one hour prior to services at the funeral chapel.

Debora, the daughter of Leo and Faye Corlew Abbas, was born Aug. 28, 1955, in Belmond. She grew up in the Kanawha area, and attended and graduated from Kanawha High School.

Following graduation from high school, Debora attended Sioux Empire College in Hawarden. She worked in Hawarden for a time, and later moved to Stacyville where she currently resided.

Debora was employed by Connie’s Express of Seattle, Wash., as a long distance truck driver along with her fiancé, Lyle Nicol.

Debora is survived by her fiancé, Lyle Nicol, of Stacyville; two children: Chad and Christina; mother, Faye Abbas of Kanawha; sisters and brother: Pamela Miller and her husband, LeRoy, of Mason City, Lory Shippy and her husband, Larry, of Clear Lake, and Wayne and his wife, Laura, of Kanawha; niece, Kayla and nephew, Rodney.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leo; and son Ben.
