RICEVILLE, IOWA — Orville Schofield, 93, of rural Riceville, passed away Saturday (June 28, 2003) at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the McIntire Methodist Church in McIntire, Iowa.

The Rev. Michael Carey will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery in rural McIntire.

Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Orville was born at Rabbit Ridge, Mo., on December 11, 1909, to Ernest Marian and Lyda Mae (Roush) Schofield. He attended local schools.

He was united in marriage to Connie Joyce Kristiansen on May 19, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Orville farmed his entire life and retired at the age of 88.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon and her husband, Keith Johnson, of Goodell; a son, Ernest, and his wife, Karen, of rural Riceville; three grandchildren, Michelle Ann and her husband, Ned Burmeister, Darrin and his wife, Kim Johnson, and Kristian Schofield. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Natasha and Jake Johnson; a brother, Denver, and his wife, Lela, of Rockwell.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie in 1997; and two sisters.
