STACYVILLE, IOWA — Donald Hemann, 68, died on Saturday (June 14, 2003) at Stacyville, Iowa.

Funeral services will be on at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with the Rev. Marvin Salz, the Rev. John Hemann and the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery, with military honors by the Hale Penney Fuller Post #569 of the American Legion.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Visitation Catholic Church, with 4 p.m. rosary and a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Donald was born on Aug. 20, 1934, in Stacyville, Iowa to Anton and Alvina (May) Hemann.

He graduated from Visitation High School in 1952 as the class president and also attended Loras College.

He entered the armed services and served with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.

In 1956, Donald married Roma Salz. He farmed for 35 years.

Donald was a past president of the school board and the Stacyville Nursing Home.

He was past Grand Knight of the K of C, a member of the Catholic Order of Forresters, and past Farm Bureau Board Member.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Irene Small.

He is survived by his wife, Roma, of Stacyville; five sons, Quentin of Stacyville, Randy (Lynne) of Rochester, Minn., Paul of St. Paul, Minn., Tim (Kari) of Newton, Iowa and Jamie of New Brighton, Conn.; four daughters, Lori (Mike) Heimer of Stewartville, Minn., Lois (Dan) Stromley of Rockwell, Lu Wilford of Coralville, Lana (Scott) Sellner of Northfield, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; one sister, Alice Gerk of Osage; four brothers, Harry, of Osage, Vernon, of Des Moines, Marvin, of Stacyville and Robert of Emmetsburg,
