STACYVILLE, IOWA — Evelyn H. Brumm, 83, of Stacyville, died Sunday (March 16, 2003) at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Mark Reasoner officiating. Interment will be in Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville. Visitation is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Visitation Catholic Church where there will be a Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Evelyn was born on Sept. 19, 1919, in Stacyville, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Thome) Mueller. She was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, where she also attended school.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Urban L. Brumm on Feb. 10, 1942, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer. After their marriage they farmed together in the Stacyville area, retiring in 1984, and moved from their farm into Stacyville in 1989. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, and crocheting afghans. She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the National Catholic Order of Foresters.

She is survived by her loving husband, Urban Brumm of Stacyville; five children, Elaine Havlovic (James) of Stacyville, Kenneth Brumm (Judy) of Apple Valley, Minn., Vernon Brumm, of Mason City, Audrey Stefan (Roy) of Cedar Falls, and Jean Brumm of Osage; five sisters, Cyrilla Rockers and Maxine Halbach, both of Austin, Minn., Mary Ann Mullenbach (Jerry) of Adams, Minn., Irene Hemann (Herbert) and Anita Adams both of Stacyville; four brothers, Emil Mueller (Margaret), of Mesa, Ariz., Elmer Mueller (Mary) and Delphin Mueller (Mary Ann), both of Austin, Minn., and Lavern Mueller (Gloria) of Osage; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; sister, Viola; and two brothers, Marvin and John.
