AUSTIN, MINNESOTA - Mary Kay (Horsfall) Freese, 47, passed away Monday (Feb. 3, 2003) in Austin, Minn.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar, with president Robert Flatt officiating. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mary was born July 31, 1955, to Harvey and Emma Lois (Trantenalla) Horsfall. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mary was employed at Hy-Vee Foods in Austin, Minn. Her day was brightened at work when she saw people she knew. She enjoyed visits and conversations with friends and people she would meet in her daily life. Mary loved hunting down garage sale bargains and "antiquing."
She loved visiting her daughter, Christy, her son-in-law, Michael, and playing with her grandson, Nathan. She was looking forward to the expected arrival of a new grandchild in March. Mary's children, Betsy, Jeff and Joe, live with their father in Arizona. Each one of them was in her thoughts and prayers each day.
Mary is now at peace with the Lord.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Freese and Joseph Freese of Mesa, Ariz.; daughters, Christine and her husband, Michael May, of Manhattan, Kan., and Betsy Freese of Mesa, Ariz.; one grandson, Nathan May; her parents, Harvey and Emma Lois Horsfall, of rural Carpenter; three brothers, Stanley Horsfall of Mason City, Frank Horsfall of Carpenter and Harvey E. Horsfall of Mason City; one sister, Linda Kruse of Meyer, Iowa; and a special good friend, Jim Horgen, of St. Ansgar.
Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents and one brother, Edward.

Mary was born on July 31, 1955, in Osage, Iowa, to Harvey Clarence Horsfall and Emma Lois Trantenella.
She married Kenneth Allan Lybarger in 1973. They later divorced. She married Kevin Edward Freese on Dec. 18, 1981. They later divorced.
She is survived by four children: Christine, Betsy, Joseph, and Jeffrey.
