Gerald Klapperich, age 79, of Stacyville, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at his home in Stacyville.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 31, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. Rev. Joseph Schneider officiated and interment was in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery, Stacyville. The Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of the arrangements.

Gerald was born on January 20, 1922 in Meyer, the son of William and Margaret (Hemann) Klapperich. Gerald attended the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Meyer. He worked for area farmers and was employed at the Stacyville Coop Creamery for nearly 50 years. Gerald was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Oswald Klapperich.

Those that survive him include four sisters, Helen Klapperich and her husband, Ambrose of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Alice Mullenbach of Johnsburg, Minnesota, Rosemary Klapperich of Austin, Minnesota and Carol Osmudnson of Austin, Minnesota; 18 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
