Funeral services for Glenn C. "Reb" Freerksen will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, with the Rev. Dr. William Rowen officiating.
Burial will take place in the Spring at the Wayne Cemetery in McIntire, [Mitchell county] Iowa.
Glenn Freerksen, 67, of Ostrander, Minnesota, died on Saturday night (Jan. 24, 2009) at the St. Marys Emergency Room [Rochester, Minnesota].
He was born on May 27, 1941, in Lawnhill, Iowa, to Donald Freerksen and Lydia (Steinfeldt) Freerksen. He attended and graduated from McIntire High School. Glenn worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life.
He enjoyed stock car races, going to auctions and finding bargain treasures, he liked spending time in his shop inventing and fixing things, he especially enjoyed the challenge of fixing things no one else was able to fix. He also enjoyed horses, dogs and playing his accordion.
Glenn is survived by his significant other, Carol Langdon; children, Jamie Freerksen (Shauna Schroeder) of Chester, Iowa, Dennis Freerksen of Charles City, and Debbie (Jeff) Abben of Mason City; four grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Orville) Clark, of Rochester, brothers, Larry (Elain) Freerksen of Riceville, and Richard (Mary Ann) Freerksen of LeRoy, Minn.; also brother-in-law, Charles Spencer, of Altura, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Donna Spencer.
The Hindt Funeral Home, LeRoy, Minnesota, is in charge of arrangements.
