GRAFTON, IOWA - Ruth E. Dalluge, 94, of Grafton, died Tuesday (May 28, 2002) at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
Ruth Eva was born Jan. 7, 1908, in Barton Township, Worth County, to Fred and Lena (Viergutz) Petznick. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in Grafton. She attended Barton Township country school, parochial school and later the high school in Grafton.
On Sept. 22, 1929, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Dalluge at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She and her husband farmed in the Grafton area in the early years of their marriage. They moved to Grafton where she lived until entering the Good Samaritan Center in 1998.
Among her interests throughout the years were crocheting, embroidering, gardening, baking, dancing, playing cards and fishing.
Her greatest love was taking care of children. In addition to her children, she and her husband had nine foster children and she was thought of as "Grandma" by the neighbor children.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating. Interment will be at the Grafton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
She is survived by a son, Richard Dalluge and his wife, LuAnn, of Spicer, Minn.; a daughter, Rebecca Dalluge, of Rochester, Minn.; two grandsons, Samuel Dalluge and wife, Andrea, and their three boys, Noah, Gabriel, and Joshua, of Rogers, Minn., and Joseph Dalluge and wife, Sarah, and their children, Jacob and Samantha, of Waverly, Minn.; one sister, Evelyn Taylor and husband, Ed, of Torrance, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, Lawrence; one sister, Dorothy Terrill; and two brothers, Ruben and Alvin.
