Funeral services for Ruth Kroneman, age 67, of Carpenter, Iowa, who died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1986, at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, Iowa, were held Tuesday, September 9, 1986 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Thomas Hughes and the Rev. E.C. Franke officiating.

Ruth Marjorie Halvorson was born May 11, 1919 to Anna Helene Tollefson Halvorson and George Alfred Halvorson. She was baptized June 4, 1919 at First Lutheran Church and was confirmed there on June 4, 1933. She graduated from St. Ansgar high school in 1936 and worked at various jobs including her last job as a local telepone operator.

She was married to Lloyd William Kroneman on March 3, 1940 and two daughters were born to them. The couple lived on farms in the St. Ansgar area, where they enjoyed raising a registered Holstein herd. In the fall of 1982, they moved to their present home in Carpenter. In 1983, she was diagnosed as having what is commonly known as Lou Gehrigs disease.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, and daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Diane) Collier of st. Ansgar, and Mrs. Frank (Joann) Helfter of New Haven; a sister, Mrs. Lenore Grell of Mason City; a brother, Avery Halvorson of St. Ansgar; and seven grandchildren.

Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
