Charlotte Amundson, age 91, of Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Sunday December 7, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice Unit in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, with the Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church.

She was born January 27, 1917, in Cedar Falls, Blackhawk county, Iowa, the daughter of William H. and Katherine (Hoffman) Hennings.

Charlotte was united in marriage to Alvin Amundson on February 6, 1935. They farmed southwest of Osage for 17 years. In 1952 they moved to Monett, MO, where they operated a business. They returned to the Osage area in the fall of 1959. Charlotte worked at the Farmer's Produce in Osage until her retirement. She was a member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle. Charlotte enjoyed embroidering, gardening and baking.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Edna (Marvin) Norby of rural Osage; Mary (Keith) Lugg of Casper, Wyoming; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was preceded by her parents; her husband, Alvin (Sept. 29, 2001); a sister, Betty Carter; and a brother, Fred Hennings.
