Hanna Wilhelmine Louise Rachut, daughter of Christove Kronemann, was born November 14, 1842 at Jacobsdorf, Pommerania, Germany, and also baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at that place.
On April 19, 1866 she was married to Gustav Rachut. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Rachut lived at Friededichsburg (SIC) for the next eleven years. In 1877 they came to this country and after a brief stay with a brother at Marshall, Wisconsin, they came to Mitchell county, settling down on a farm in Rock township where they lived for 30 years. In 1907 they came to St. Ansgar where they lived the rest of their lives. Mr. Rachut died on January 16, 1919.
Their union was blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters, of whom four sons and one daughter preceded their mother in death.
The deceased enjoyed fairly good health during her long life, But about six weeks ago she was stricken with influenza which dread disease she was not able to withstand in her old age. She passed away peacefully last Saturday afternoon at three o'clock.
She attained the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 8 days. She is survived by one brother, two sons, two daughters, 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today with services at Immanuel's Lutheran church and cemetery, the Rev. Paul Brammer officiating.
