OSAGE, IOWA - Beda B. Dodge, 85, of Osage, died Sunday (Sept. 21, 2008) at her home.

She was born on April 26, 1923, on a farm north of Little Cedar, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Penney) Elliott.

Beda married Dean Dodge on February 26, 1944. They lived on a farm southeast of Osage and farmed until retiring in 1982, when they moved to Osage. Dean died on November 8, 2005.

Beda was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a great caregiver, taking care of her ailing mother, elderly father and her disabled daughter. Beda was also faithful to follow her grandchildren in their sporting and music events and treasured those times.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

His survivors include a daughter, Ruth Dodge, Osage; a son, the Rev. Robert Dodge and his wife Brenda, Britt; six grandchildren, Beda Dodge of Elkhart, Ind., Kama Dodge of Waterloo, Timothy Dodge and his wife Hillary of Altoona, Kristin Volk and her husband Ryan of Altoona, Amy Dodge of Britt and Jeremy Dodge of Britt; two great-grandsons, Samuel Dodge and Caleb Volk and sister, Frances Morse of Osage.

Beda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; brother, Ivan and brother-in-law, Beverly Morse.

Arrangements are by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa -- 641-732-3706.
