Robert "Bob" Hinrichsen, age 78, of Osage, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at MCRHC-Hospice Unit in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery with military honors by Osage American Legion Post 278 and Osage V.F.W. Post 7920. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church.

Bob was born September 7, 1929, to Martin and Margaret (Hinrichsen) Hinrichsen at Rock Falls. After graduating from Rock Falls High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. On June 21, 1953, Bob married Anna Louise Shomber at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Nora Springs. After working at Mont-gomery Ward in Mason City for 16 1/2 years in the tire department, and then in the receiving department, he and his family moved to Osage in December 1969. He and Louise owned Bob's Upholstery business for 38 years. He really enjoyed creating a beautiful thing from a worn out piece of furniture. He got Parkinson's Disease and retired from the business about three years ago. Bob and Louise spent many weekends going to flea markets. He especially enjoyed playing cards with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Louise Hinrichsen; two sons, Mark (Kim) Hinrichsen, Byron Hinrichsen, all of Osage; grandson, Michael Hinrichsen of Osage; granddaughter, Jessie (Brandon) Parcel of Osage; a sister, Helen (George) Reynolds of Mason City; sisters-in-law, Betty Hinrichsen of Nora Springs, Liz Hinrichsen of Rock Falls, Barbara Miller of Osage, Dorothy Turner of Council Bluffs, Linda Riker of Osage, Shirley Shomber of Appling, Georgia; brother-in-law, Larry (Marlene) Moody of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl and Don; daughter-in-law, Linnette; and brothers-in-law, Charles Shomber, Robert Riker, Arlo Miller and Duane Shomber.
