LYLE, MINNESOTA -- The funeral for Samuel "Ray" Farrell will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Crane Community Chapel in Austin, Mower county, Minnesota, with the Rev. Joe Matt officiating.

Burial will be in the Woodbury Cemetery near Lyle.

Mr. Farrell, 94, died Thursday, February 27, 1997, at Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa. He was born April 25, 1902, in Corwith, Iowa.

He married Martha Anderson on Dec. 29, 1924, in Blooming Prairie, and they made their home in Illinois. They moved to Minnesota in 1948. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deloris (Mrs. Winfred) Robinson of Shelbyville, Ill., and Eileen Wiley of Plainfield, Ill.; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-granchildren; and one sister, Eva Yeoman of Kenawha, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; an infant son; a brother; a grandson; and a granddaughter.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.
