Leonard James Kisley, age 62, of Hines, Minnesota, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Bemidji, Minnesota, at North Country Regional Hospital.
Memorial Services were held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Blackduck, Minnesota. Military honors were provided by the American Legion Post 372 of Blackduck, Minn. Honorary pallbearers were Leonard's sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
Leonard was born on June 24, 1945 in Lawler, Iowa, the son of Paul and Betty (Hadacek) Kisley. He was raised and educated in Osage, Iowa. He entered the U.S. Army in 1968, and received an honorable discharge in 1970. He married Joyce Smith on January 29, 1972 on Sandy Lake, in Beltrami County, Minnesota. He was a dairy farmer, ran a minnow business, and was a long haul trucker until he passed away. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by: his wife, Joyce Kisley of Hines, Minn.; sons, Kevin (Bonnie Nagel) Kisley of Blackduck, Minn., and Matthew (Amber) Kisley of Hines, Minn.; daughters, Carrie Ann Kisley of Iowa; Andrea (David) Martin of Blackduck, Minn., Bobbie (Greg) Harmon of Clearwater, Minn., and Carla Kisley of Lake George, Minn.; brothers, Raymond (Linda) Kisley of Osage, Iowa, Paul (Beverly) Kisley of Osage, Iowa, Frank (Patty) Kisley of Osage, Iowa, and Norbert (Diane) Kisley of Cottage Grove, Minn.; and his nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Val Kisley, his sister and her husband, Cecilia and Bill Buck.
