Obituary-Mrs. Henry Green

New Haven and vicinity were shocked at the sudden death of one of its oldest and most respected friends when Mrs. Henry Green was called in death on Monday morning, December 6th, after a short but violent illness.

Mrs. Green, besides being a devoted wife and loving and sacrificing mother, was a good neighbor and a respected friend, always willing to help when help was needed and to speak a cheerful word to those in distress, and do a kind act for those in trouble.

For these and her many other noble characteristics she will long be remembered by those she loved and lived among.

Mrs. Green was raised a Catholic and has always been numbered among those willing to do her part in church affairs, and was loyal and true to the church through which she chose to serve her God.

Mrs. Green was born in Wisconsin, January 13, 1858 and died December 6, 1920, living all but the first eight years in the same community that she was living at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Henry Green in 1894 and was the mother of three daughters, two of which preceded her in death., Gertrude died in infancy and Laura was killed in an explosion in the fall of 1918.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Henry Green and one daughter, Mrs. L. J. Kehoe, and family, also her aged father, Mr. John Miller, and four brothers and four sisters-Peter Miller, Matt Miller, Joseph Miller, Mrs John Johanns, Mrs. F. Foxen and Mrs. Peter Fox, all of New Haven and one sister, Mrs. W. L. Devaney, of Minneapolis-and numberless friends whose grief and sorrow can only be assuaged by the fragrance of her memory which should never die.

The funeral was held at St. Peter's church, at New Haven and burial at the cemetery near by.
