The funeral of Miss Doris Conklin of Mitchell, Iowa, was conducted Sunday afternoon, September 22, 1929, at the Community church in Mitchell, Iowa.
Miss Conklin was killed in an explosion which wrecked a filling station in St. Ansgar, Iowa, while she was in the woman's restroom. She was 17 years old. Miss Conklin was killed instantly. Her body was badly mangled and burned in the explosion and fire. She was enroute from Mitchell to Austin, Minnesota, with her father and a brother.
Surviving her are the parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Conklin, a brother and two sisters. Doris was born at Owasa, Iowa, from which place the family moved to Mitchell county a few years ago.
