ACCIDENTS CLAIM LIVES
TWO YOUNG MEN PAST WEEK

Wilbur Crockett of New
Haven, and Clayton Nelson,
St. Ansgar.

Two young men of this vicinity are dead as results of accidents both of them probably unavoidable and an other was seriously injuried in a fall, within as many days. The dead are Wilbur Franklin Crockett, 24 years of age, and Clayton Nelson, 21 year of age.

Clayton Nelson

Clayton Nelson was killed, probably instantly, when a log hit him breaking his neck.
Clayton, who is 21 years of age and a son of Mrs. Fred Nelson who live west of Mona, had been employed for several months on the Godfrey Carlson farm 5 miles north of St. Ansgar.

The accident happened at about 10 o'clock Tuesday forenoon. He had been using a skid and team to pile logs, and was working alone, although other men were nearby.

The first they knew that anything had happened was when the team began to run away. Going over to the pile of logs, they found Clayton lying on the ground with a log across his back. Evidently the chain had broken throwing a log into his face, as his neck was broken.

Funeral services had not been made when we received this information.
