Mrs. Ingeborg Peterson Alms

Mrs. Ingeborg Peterson Alms died at Meroa at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Miller Williams, last Wednesday, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 3 days, and from the usual aliments suffered by people of her age.

Mrs. Peterson Alms and her husband came here many years ago and settled on a farm near Orchard.

They lived there and raised their family, until about two years ago, when they became too feeble to manage the place and moved to the home of their daughter.

They were among the finest citizens of the county, and sympathy is extended to Mr. Peterson Alms in his bereavement.

Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church at Meroa Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. O. C. Myhre, and burial was made in the Meroa cemetery.

Mrs. Ingeborg Peterson Alms was born in the parish of Gran, Hadeland, Norway, July 4, 1838.
Ten years of her childhood were spent in her native home. About fifty-five years ago she entered into the holy estate of matrimony with Hans Peterson Alm of her native country.

In the spring of 1877 they came to this country and located temporarily on a farm in Floyd county, Iowa. Later they bought a farm near Orchard, Mitchell county, on which they continued to live until about six years ago, when they moved to the place of one of their daughters, Mrs. G. M. Williams. The last year of their time has been divided between the homes of their daughters, Mrs. H. L. Johnson and Mrs. G. M. Williams.

In their wedlock three children were born. The departed leaves to morn her loss the following near relatives: the old husband, two daughters, Mrs. H. L. Johnson and Mrs. G. M. Williams, and two brothers in Hadeland, Norway.

She has enjoyed good health all her life until the last six years. She died June 14, 1922, the cause of her death being the usual infirmities of old age. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O. C. Myhre at Rock Creek Lutheran church and interment in the Rock Creek cemetery.
