NOFSINGER

Sarah Beckner was born in Roanoke county, Virginia, July 16, 1825 and died in Fayette county, Iowa, December 23, 1907.

She resided in Virginia until about eight of years of age, when with her parents she moved to Laport, Indiana. While living at that place she was united in marriage with Samuel Nofsinger, December 6, 1846.

To this union was born one son, Wallace, who lived to nearly reach the age of manhood. He died at their home in Mitchell, Iowa, in 1869.
They resided at Mitchell until the death of the husband March 27th, 1901. Since that time she has made her home with relatives at Osage, Greeley and Maynard.

She was one of a large family and only one brother, David Beckner, of Webster City, survive her. Although her life of 80 years has held its full share of toil and grief she has borne it all patiently and gently ever thoughtful and considerate of others. Her life, as long as health remained, like that of the Masters was one "That came to minister, no to be ministered unto." Her storms of life are over, and she has gone to her rest.

The funeral services were held at the home of Frank Beckner Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Erb, and the remains were taken to Osage, Iowa, for burial. - Maynard News.

The body arrived here on Christmas day, and a short service was held at the grave conducted by Rev. F. P. Shaffer of the Methodist church.
Mr. Nofsinger is an aunt of Mae Mckee of this city.
