Samson Gifford
Died in N. Mexico

Samson Gifford, 58, nearly a life-time resident of this county, passed away March 29, at Los Vegas, N.M., where he had been the past year and a half in hopes that his health would be benefited.

Mr. Gifford was born June 9, 1879 to Samson and Agnes Gifford at their farm home, six and one half miles northwest of Osage.
There he spent his boyhood.

He was married to Bell Gibson at Galt. Mo., Jan. 10, 1904, and the young couple spent a few years there. Then they came to Mitchell county, which was since been the deceased residence.

He is survived by his widow and the following children: Leo, Mrs. Walter Ackerman and Miss Jeanne Gifford, of Rochester, Minn.; Mrs. Floyd Scharberg, of Byron Minn., Harold, of Duluth.

He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Agnes Gifford, the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Dave Reausaw, of Roubaux, S.D.; Mrs. John Gifford, of Wilbaux, Mont., E.A. McIlroy, of Dodge Center; Mrs. Hans Peterson of Osasge, and Bert Gifford, of Waterloo.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 p.m., in charge of the Rev. John D. Kern, at a local funeral home and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
