Funeral services for Elmer Lebow, 79, of Osage, Iowa, were held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Riceville.

Elmer died Saturday, August 25, 2007, at the Mitchell County Care Facility.

Elmer was born January 19, 1928, at Riceville, Iowa, the son of Fred and Minnie (Kapka) Lebow. He attended country schools near Riceville. Elmer helped his dad on the family farm. He has been a resident of the Care Facility since 1965. Elmer enjoyed fishing, picnics, dancing and bowling. He received several blue ribbons for the crafts that he entered at the Mitchell County Fair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by two sisters, Bernice Wagner and Velma Lebow; and by one niece, VeraMae Leitz.

Elmer is survived by two great-nieces, Arlene (John) Krull of Osage, and Mary (Steve) Welton of Windsor, Illinois; and by two great-nephews, Russell Leitz of Leland, and Jim Contino of Des Moines.
