Peter W. Miller, 78, of 1301 Center St., Watertown, died on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown. Visitation is at the church on Friday from noon until the time of the service. The Hafemeister Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miller was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Stacyville, Iowa, son of Harvey and Elizabeth (Adams) Miller. He married the former Dorothy Hoeft on Dec. 28, 1945, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Watertown. She preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 1990. He married the former Gloria (Biefeld) Miller on Aug. 15, 1997, in Watertown.

Miller was a graduate of St. Henry Grade School and attended Watertown High School. He had been employed at Dairyland Dairy and Redi-Mix Concrete Co. for many years. He served in the United States Army Infantry in Europe during World War II. Miller was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and a former member of Watertown Elks Lodge No. 666, Watertown Moose Lodge No. 830 and Watertown Lions Club, where he served on the board and various committees. He was a life member of the Clarence McGuire Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7852.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria of Watertown, four daughters; Cheryl (Jim) Dickerson of Chicago, Ill., Karen (John) Seibert of Watertown, Bonnie (Stephen) Kline of Madison and Tammie (Michael) Fisher of Watertown; two sons, Lee (Nadine) Miller and Kerry (Connie) miller, both of Watertown; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Maureen Miller of Madison, Mona (Joseph) Janlin of Marshfield and Mary Miller of Watertown; three stepsons, Michael (Sharon) Miller of Watertown, Mark (Corrine) Miller of Watertown and Matthew (Karen) of Lake Mills; 12 stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Fernholz and Margaret Rowlands, both of Watertown; a brother, Raymond (Shelby) of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Martin Miller, and a sister, Agnes Miller.
