AUSTIN, MINN. -- Norbert R. Blaser, age 81, formerly of Adams, Minnesota, passed away at Sunrise Cottages of Rochester, Minnesota, on Saturday, May 5, 2007, with his daughters by his side, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Norbert Raymond Blaser was born June 7, 1925 in McIntire, Iowa to John and Anna (Blake) Blaser. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Meyer, Iowa. Norbert worked with his father on the family farm during World War II.
On Sept. 16, 1947 he married Pauline Elliott at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. They moved to rural Osage, Iowa and farmed in a partnership with his brother.
In 1960 Norbert and Pauline purchased a farm south of Adams and farmed until retirement in 1999. Norbert was a faith-filled man with a gentle heart and a playful sense of humor.
He is survived by his children: Donna (William) May, of Clarks Grove, Minnesota; Karen (John) Rich, of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Debra Blaser (Jeffrey Hill), of Zumbrota, Minnesota; Pamela (Michael) Nagele, of LeRoy, Minnesota; Bonnie (Craig) Lunde, of Red Wing, Minnesota; Jeanine Blaser (William Stephenson), of Austin; Beverly (Mark) Beaver, of Elkton, Minnesota; by 15 grandchildren; by four great-grandchildren; by brothers: Richard (Viola) Blaser, of Osage; Kenneth (Lucille) Blaser, of Osage; Gervis (Lucina) Blaser, of Meyer; by sisters: Armella Kramer, of Osage; Kathleen Wiste, of Adams; Joanne (Eugene) Heimer, of Adams; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; by an infant son; by three sisters; and by one brother.
A celebration of Norbert Raymond Blaser's life was held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams, with Father James Seitz, Father James Berning, and Deacon Michael Ellis officiating. The organist was Laura Freund. Vocalists were: Mandi Lunde, Tara Lunde, and Michael May. Casket Bearers were: Scott Shane, Jill Shane, Eric Nagele, Ryan Nagele, Michael May, and Marcus May.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Adams.
The Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
