Pearl Marie Fritcher Rawn, age 88, of Adams, formerly of Lyle, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Adams Health Care Center. She was the daughter of Lee and Mami Fritcher of St. Ansgar, Iowa. She was born Jan. 17, 1916. Pearl moved to Otranto, Iowa, with her parents in 1916. She lived 21 years at Otranto, graduating in 1933 from Otranto Consolidated School.

Pearl was married in April 1938 to Rufus Rawn, of Lyle, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed northwest of Lyle for 44 years. Rufus passed away September of 1982.

Pearl stayed on the farm for three years and then moved into Lyle until June 1999 when she went to Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle. A member of Our Saviors WELCA, Mary Circle, the Lyle Senior Citizens, Woodbury Willing Workers and Pythian Sisters of Lyle. She worked for neighbors doing housework and at the cafe in Lyle.

After she was married she worked for Burghard Produce, the Gamble Store in Lyle and for seven years in the fall at Hollandale picking potatoes. She worked for Austin Drug for 23 years, retiring in 1979. She loved to travel, take pictures and spend time with her children and their families.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-laws: Beverly De Maris, St. Ansgar, Iowa; Mary Lou and Ray Ringham, Mason City, Iowa; Betty and Gregg Johnson, Lyle; Debra and Jim Whalen, Winona, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Zella and Gerald Francis, Osage, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Doris Fritcher, Sunland, Calif.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus; a son and daughter in infancy, a granddaughter in infancy; son-in-law Wayne De Maris; and brother, Roy Fritcher.

Casket bearers are Alan De Maris, Mike De Maris, Larry Johnson, James Johnson, Marty Johnson and Ryan Whalen. Honorary bearers are Linda De Maris, Julie Hansen, Nancy Flannery, Sandra Barnes, Patti Kisner, Andrea Schroeder and Jennifer Whalen.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Lyle, with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Interment will be in the Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle Township. Visitation will he held at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary today from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church for one hour before the service.
