DONNA BEMENT-KOCH DEAD

Passed Away Last Wednesday Evening,
After Long Illness from Influenza
and Complications.

Mrs. Alvin H. Koch passed away last Wednesday evening at 9:40 o'clock, after an illness of twelve weeks. Influzenza and consequent complications were the cause of her death. She had a severe siege of influenza eary in February, but recovered from it. It left her very weak, and though she showed improvement at times, she finally succumbed to the long strain.

Donna Mildred Bement was born on Aug. 26, 1900, the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Bement. She spent all her life in Osage, attending the public schools and the Baptist church and Sunday school.

On May 16, 1918, she was married to Alvin H. Koch. Her husband was called to defend his country on September 5, of that year, and remained in the service until Jan. 25, 1919, just before she was taken with her fatal illness.

Her funeral was held last Friday afternoon at the Baptist church, the Rev. A.S. Cross officiating. She was laid to rest in the Osage cemetery beside her sister, who preceded her in death September 19, 1900. She leaves to mourn her untimely passing, her grief-stricken young husband, her parents and one sister,Goldie Bement, besides other relatives.

Those from out town who were here to attend the funeral were; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fuller, of Waterloo; Mrs. W. M. Fuller, of Austin; Mr. and Mrs Frank Quinn and two children of Waterloo; Ray Trusedale, of Waterloo; and Fred Koch, of Mankato, Minn. The grandmother, Mrs. Folks, of Waterloo, was unable to be present as she was in a hospital at the time submitting to an operation.
