Jacob F. Bower
Jacob F. Bower was born Mar. 10, 1849, in Lycoming county PA. and died at his late home in Osage, Iowa, April 6, 1920, having attained the age of 71 years and 27 days.
In the March of 1893 he moved with his family from his boyhood home in Lycoming county to a farm east of Osage, Iowa, where he lived until 5 years ago, when he, with his wife and daughter, Anna, moved into Osage to enjoy a few years of comfort and rest.
Mar. 6 1873, he was united in marriage to Caroline Renner and to this union was born three sons and three daughters, viz: William Benneville (deceased), Elizabeth Susan (Mrs. H. H. Graham), John, Edgar, Anna Cleveland, Robert Cutter and Alice Jane (Mrs. H. E. Wells). Besides the immediate family he leaves to mourn his loss, two sisters-Lucy Bower of Osage, and Margaret Kitchen, of South Williamsport, PA- and four brothers-Henry and Wilson, Osage, and Levi, of Muncy, Pa., and Pierce, also of Williamsport.
He united with the Zion Lutheran church at White Deed, Lycoming county, at the age of 17, and always kept his membership with that organization though during his residence here he attended the Methodist.
