A Mass of Christian Burial for Norman Lincke, age 82, of Osage, Iowa, was held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery with military honors at graveside by Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 and Osage American Legion Post 278. Norman died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at the Faith Home in Osage.

Norman was born August 22, 1924, at Mitchell, Iowa, the son of Paul and Abigail (Dodge) Lincke. Norman graduated from Osage High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, landing in Normandy on D-Day. His tour also included Luxemburg, Belgium, and Germany. Norman was presented with a Medal of Appreciation from the Ambassador of France. He returned to Osage, where he married Eileen Puettmann on October 9, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Norman was employed as a mechanic for the Iowa DOT for 36 years. He was a member of the Osage V.F.W. and the Osage American Legion. Norman was an accomplished carpenter, and made many pieces of furniture for his family. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Norman is survived by his wife, Eileen Lincke of Osage; two daughters, Claudia (Larry) Lacour of Osage, and Donna Adams and Rex Ratcliff of Hampton; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
