MRS. KERMIT GOULD DIES

CARPENTER, IOWA ù Ina Christina (Anderson) (Nicholson) Gould, 94, celebration of life ended October 15, 2006 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in Newburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School Street, St. Ansgar.

Ina was born in Worth County on January 14, 1912, to William and Hattie (Carlsgard) Anderson. She was a lifelong member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church. She graduated from Otranto High School in 1929.

In 1934 she was united in marriage to Harold "Colonel" Nicholson in Garner, Iowa. They owned and operated the Carpenter Sale barn for several years and also Nicholson's Cafe. After Harold's death, she worked for the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar as their first Head Cook until she retired. She was married to Kermit Gould in 1974.

Family was her greatest joy. Family Food and Fun were the order of all holidays. Hobbies included her flower garden, cooking, playing cards, bingo, and baseball; her favorite team was the Minnesota Twins. She and Kermit traveled a good deal, wintering in both Arizona and Texas.

Ina is survived by her daughters Yvonne (Melvin) Albrecht of Leroy, Minnesota; Sharon Wilder Hintz of Carpenter, Iowa; Nancy Harvey of Stuart, Florida; one son, Harold "Butch" (Andrea) Nicholson of Port St. Lucie, Florida; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Ronnie (Harvey) Anderson of Carpenter, Iowa and Arlene (Don) Anderson of St. Ansgar, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, one daughter, Phyllis (Ed) Mashany, her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
