Graveside services for Mrs. Ruth G. Myers, 81, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died May 1, 1983 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, were held May 3 at the Masonic cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ruth G. Myers was born July 15, 1901, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Hulda (Davis) and Stanley Goddard.

She married Leslie C. Myers on September 1, 1924 in Des Moines, and on edaughter was born to them. Mrs. Myers was a member of the United Methodist church, also the Eastern Star. She made her home is Des Moines until moving to St. Ansgar in the fall of 1979.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A. Smith of St. Ansgar; by four grandsons, Michael Pope of Des Moines, Robert Pope of Mankato, Minnesota, Stephen Pope of Waterloo, Iowa, and by Adam Smith of St. Ansgar; also by two great-grandchildren, Megan and Charles Pope of Des Moines.

MYERS, Ruth (Goddard) 1901-1983

Graveside, Masonic services were held on Tuesday, May 3, 1983, at the Glendale cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa, for Ruth Myers, a former Des Moines Resident, who died on Sunday, May 1, 1983, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth G. Myers was born on July 15, 1901, the daughter of Hulda (Davis) and Stanley Goddard in Des Moines. She attended school in the Des MOines school system.

She was married to Leslie Myers on September 1, 1924 in Des Moines. Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church and also Eastern Star. She lived in Des Moines until moving to St. Ansgar in the fallof 1979, where she listed until the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Ruth is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth A. Smith of St. Ansgar, four grandsons, Michael Pope of Des Moines, Robert Pope of Mankato, Minnesota; Stephen Pope of Waterloo, and Adam Smith of St. Ansgar, two great-grandchildren, Mrgan and Charles Pope of Des Moines.

Memorials are asked to be sent to the First Responders, Inc. of St. Ansgar.
