Daniel Thomas Asfahl, age 41, of Winona, Minnesota, and formerly of Riceville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2006 from a heart attack while inner-tubing on the Trempealeau River, north of Dodge, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 7, 2006, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville with Rev. Michael Parris officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

Daniel was born on July 11, 1964 in Riceville, to Ralph Neil and Edith Marie (Affeldt) Asfahl. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1983.

Daniel is survived by his mother Edith, by sisters, Dianne and Debra, and by a brother, David.
