Carpenter, Iowa -- The community was shocked and saddened by the word which was telegraphed here from the West Sunday morning the sad news that the angel of death had overtaken Mrs. Jake Priem while enroute to California with her husband and Mrs. Emma Gerlach and Fritz Priem.

No particulars have been learned. They are expected home Wednesday or Thursday.

Carpenter Woman Dies While on Western Trip

CARPENTER, IOWA - Sept. 4 [1930] — Word was received here that Mrs. Jake Priem had died at Washington while on a trip with her husband, Mrs. Emma Gerlach, and Fritz Priem.

The body will be shipped here for burial. No funeral arrangements have been made.

Mrs. Jacob Priem, 46, Buried Near Carpenter

CARPENTER, Sept. 10, [1930] — Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Priem, 46, were held Monday at the U. E. church. Burial was at the Priem cemetery.

She is survived by her husband and two children, one dying in Infancy; they are Mrs. Russell Culbertson, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Glen at home.
