RITES HELD FOR MRS. BUEHRER, 87, YESTERDAY - BORN IN ALSACE LORRAIN IN 1850; HAS LIVED HERE SINCE 1907

Rites were held for Mrs. M. Buehrer, who died July 4th at the age of 87, at the Rock Creek Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. C. Bosholm of Toeterville officiating. Interment was in the Rock Creek cemetery.

Mrs. Buehrer, nee Salome Kilcher, was born June 24, 1850 at Colmar, Alsace Lorrain, the daughter of Jacob and Salome Kilcher. With her parents she came to the United States at the age of seven years, resided in Illinois for a time and then moved to Lawler, Iowa. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at West Union, Iowa by the Rev. Wachte.

September 21, 1869, she married the Rev. M. Buehrer at West Union after which with her husband she lived near Lawler, Iowa, moving to Grafton in 1882; living there and near Grafton until 1907 when they moved to St. Ansgar.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1919 and by one son, Emil in 1933. Surviving are nine children: Mrs. William Tesch; Mrs. J. J. Dieterich, both of St. Ansgar, IA; W. W. Buehrer of Otranto; O.H. Buehrer, Waterloo; C. H. Buehrer, Grafton; T. M. Buehrer, Waverly; Mrs. Lydia Marchks, St. Ansgar; S. H. Buehrer, Fort Williams, Ontario; and F. O. Buehrer, Des Moines.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one brother and one sister also survive.
